The Fractal Nature of Things is part of my Micro/Macro Landscapes Projects. Referencing microscopic organisms, geological formations, architectural structures, and celestial bodies The Fractal Nature of Things suggests utopian futuristic worlds as well as the often unnoticed organic and built world that surrounds us. These forms imply growth and change. I multiply small shapes and systems so that they come together into larger compositions. I find this way of working reflective of how the universe operates. It is an iterative practice of working between the micro and macroscopic. The Fractal Nature of Things creates a landscape-like composition from this practice, reflective of my desire to abstract nature and geometric forms so that the system, the pieces that bring things together, become the work itself.
