In June I spent 10 days on the edge of Lake Michigan at Shared Space Studio in Michigan. It was a blast! I felt just like I was a kid at camp again. I baked cat shaped bread in collaboration with another artist, went to the Asparagus Festival and met "Gus", participated in late night karaoke, campfires, and of course made some art.
Throughout my visit I made some great friends (and some adorable cat-shaped bread loafs!) and played around with color working on new ideas for upcoming shows.
The field outside was as much a part of the art making as the studio. When I arrived I knew I wanted to make a piece to leave there for future residents so I decided to make a hammock! Now anyone can catch some z's in the meadow, getting ready for all of the great times ahead.
